Painting Life Experiences 

Sabelo Mkhaliphi, a South African artist, was born in Soweto Johannesburg in 1986. He discovered his passion for art in grade 4 when he was selected to attend an afternoon class at Kopanong community center in Dobsenville Soweto. It was here that he realized that he wanted to pursue his career in this field.

Sabelo believes that being an artist is something that one is born to do. He learned most of his art from his father, who is also an artist. He went on to study through practical experience, learning through trial and error and self-learning, studying the works of many artists that he has seen on social media today.

Sabelo works primarily in oil, acrylic paints, and collage, and he currently works from home in Soweto Johannesburg. His work is focused on telling the life experiences of African women.
